Mountain, BMX and Triathlon Racing |
|
Minnesota has a vibrant racing scene in all forms of bicycle racing. The MN Cycling Federation is the "local association" of USA Cycling, presently coordinating local road, track and cyclocross racing. USAC has been granted authority under the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act, through the US Olympic Committee, to be the sole governing body for competitive bicycle racing in the USA. Mountain bike, BMX, triathlon and duathlon racing do not fall under the MCF's responsibilities. Triathlon and duathlon racing is coordinated through USA Triathlon. St. Paul Bike Racing Club |
|
The 2011 Saint Paul Bike Racing Club Beginner Race Program is coming up fast! (Mondays 5:45PM April 25 - May 23, and Friday May 27).
The SPBRC-BRP has been a spring mainstay since 1995 and is for anyone interested in improving their performance riding. You don't need to be in great shape. The training emphasizes skills rather than high-intensity. It's excellent for beginners as well as novices and intermediates looking for a refresher.
The course offers on-bike instruction in basic racing skills (such as cornering and climbing, bike fit, group riding techniques), and an excellent opportunity to race. Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to race successfully, as well as participate in many of the informal training rides sponsored by clubs throughout the metro area.
We'll be at the Twin Cities Bike Swap on Sunday Feb 13, at the Grand Performance/SPBRC Table with information and registration materials. Info and registration materials also available by inquiring:
